Candy & Lacee Design Studio is the creative home of Kathryn Haesner.
Whilst studying Fashion Design at Lette Design School in Berlin I established Candy & Lacee as a fashion label. The quirky scene of Berlin and an abundance of ideas set the scene for an ever changing collection without following the seasonal presures of the fashion industry.
Moving from Berlin to Melbourne as a young mum changed the focus of the small enterprise, as can be expected.
Today I fuse fashion, art, homeware, computer illustrations & design to create unique Soft Toys, Wall Art and Homeware.
The theme has evolved to be playful, thoughtful and individual.
A lot of my inspiration today comes from the amazing Australian Wildlife and the diverse colours and textures of the great outdoors. The designs are then brought to life using funky vintage fabrics & fabulous Op Shop finds.
I believe in handmade quality and local production. Everything is sourced and made in Australia. All materials are selected to promote an eco friendly, environmentally conscious life style. I love using recycled textiles as they create unique, fun objects.
